A news is coming from Bengaluru regarding HMPV. It has been said in this report that symptoms of this flu have been seen in an 8 month old child in a hospital there. However, the hospital did not confirm this news. However, the state health department has not yet confirmed this news. But some private checkups of this child have been done in which this thing has been confirmed. According to India Today report, a health department official said, we are confident in the accuracy of the test conducted in the private lab.
This flu is very dangerous for children and people with weak immunity. Because it quickly makes such people its victims. Take special care especially of small children. Their immunity is weak. Due to which it spreads rapidly.
The Karnataka Health Department had said on Monday that no case of HMPV has been reported in the state. The discovery of the suspected case has raised concerns, but health officials have stressed that it cannot be confirmed until results from other labs are received.
What is HMPV?
Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a respiratory virus that usually causes mild flu-like symptoms. This virus spreads most rapidly in the winter and early spring months. It spreads from one person to another through cough, sneeze, dirty surfaces, this flu spreads rapidly through the infected person. Common symptoms include cough, fever, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, and in some cases, wheezing or trouble breathing. This is most common in young, elderly or immunocompromised people with severe respiratory illness such as pneumonia or bronchiolitis.

This virus spreads rapidly in this month
However, HMPV is similar to other respiratory diseases like RSV (respiratory syncytial virus), measles and mumps. But there is no vaccine and no antiviral treatment is available. Most people recover with rest and hydration. But serious cases involve hospitalization and treatment like oxygen therapy.

The American Lung Association considers HMPV to be a significant cause of serious respiratory problems. Especially in children. This virus was first detected by researchers in the Netherlands in 2001 and since then such health problems often start occurring during the winter and spring months.
